Scope of Policy

Service Agreements and Contracts

Custom Development Projects

For custom development projects (software, web applications, etc.), the following refund policy applies:

  • Initial Deposit/Advance Payment: Initial deposits or advance payments (typically 30-50% of the total project cost) are non-refundable once work on the project has commenced.
  • Milestone Payments: Payments made for completed milestones are non-refundable as they represent compensation for work already performed.
  • Project Cancellation by Client: If the client decides to cancel the project after work has commenced, the client will be liable to pay for all work completed up to the cancellation date.

Recurring Services

For recurring services such as maintenance contracts, hosting services, or monthly service packages:

  • Monthly Subscriptions: For monthly subscription services, clients may cancel at any time. Refunds will not be provided for the current billing month; the service will continue until the end of the paid period.
  • Annual Subscriptions: For annual subscription services paid upfront, cancellations within 14 days of purchase may be eligible for a prorated refund of the unused portion. After 14 days, refunds will be at our discretion and may be subject to a cancellation fee.

Fixed-Term Contracts

For fixed-term contracts with a specified duration:

  • Early Termination: Early termination of fixed-term contracts may be subject to early termination fees as specified in the service agreement.
  • Automatic Renewals: For contracts with automatic renewal clauses, clients must provide written notice of non-renewal at least 30 days before the end of the current term to avoid renewal charges.

Software and Digital Products

For software licenses and digital products:

  • Software Licenses: Due to the nature of digital products, all sales of software licenses are final, and no refunds will be provided once the license key has been delivered.
  • Money-Back Guarantee: Some products may come with a limited money-back guarantee as specifically advertised. In such cases, refund requests must be made within the specified guarantee period.

Cancellation Process

To cancel a service or contract, clients must follow these steps:

  1. Submit a written cancellation request to contact@the5star.shop with the subject line "Service Cancellation Request"
  2. Include your account details, the specific service you wish to cancel, and the reason for cancellation
  3. Our team will process your request and respond within 2-3 business days
  4. A confirmation email will be sent once the cancellation has been processed

Refund Process

When a refund is approved, the following process will apply:

  • Refund Method: Refunds will be processed using the original payment method when possible. If the original payment method is unavailable, an alternative method will be arranged.
  • Processing Time: Refunds typically take 7-14 business days to process and appear in your account, depending on your financial institution.
  • Partial Refunds: In some cases, partial refunds may be offered based on the portion of services already delivered or other factors.

Exceptional Circumstances

We recognize that exceptional circumstances may sometimes require exceptions to this policy. The following situations may be considered for special refund arrangements:

  • Service Inadequacy: If we fail to deliver the services as outlined in the service agreement, and are unable to rectify the issues within a reasonable timeframe
  • Major Technical Issues: If our products or services contain major technical issues that significantly impact functionality and cannot be resolved
  • Force Majeure: In case of extraordinary events or circumstances beyond the control of either party

Each case will be evaluated individually, and any exceptions to the standard policy will be at the sole discretion of 5Star IT Solutions management.

No-Show Policy

For scheduled consultations, training sessions, or other time-based services:

  • Clients who fail to attend scheduled appointments without providing at least 24 hours' notice will be charged the full amount for the appointment.
  • Rescheduling is available at no additional cost if requested at least 24 hours in advance.

We reserve the right to modify this Refund and Cancellation Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically for changes.
